Class Descriptions
Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa Flow classes emphasize techniques to build an internal fire, agni, and harnessing that internal heat to create change in our bodies and lives. Surya Namaskars, or sun salutations, and breath fluidly link one asana to another. Vinyasa Flow classes may vary in theme and emphasis and offer prompts for students to progress more deeply into poses their own personal practice advances. Suitable for all levels.

An abbreviated Vinyasa Flow class perfect for your lunch break. Suitable for all levels.
Rock Your Asana!
An energetic Vinyasa class set to upbeat music. Come prepared to sweat, surf your edge and be challenged!
Suitable for all levels with modification.
Power Vinyasa Flow
An intense heat building yoga workout that grounds down around Surya Namaskars, sun salutations, embellishing the practice with additional balance poses, hip and heart openers and ab work.
Previous yoga experience and awareness of posture alignment recommended.
Yoga Basics
This is an introductory class geared towards those with with little or no prior experience with yoga. Yoga Basics offers a safe and nurturing environment in which to learn the essential groundwork to begin or strengthen your personal yoga practice. You will learn the basics of pranayama (yogic breathing), alignment, and systematic relaxation. The basis of this class is the simple fact that yoga and its many benefits are accessible to everyone and every body.
Yoga for Runners and Triathletes
Yoga is a multi-dimensional mind and body discipline that engages every muscle and cultivates focus and mental endurance. At Abhyaasa’s Yoga For Runners & Triathletes, you will learn simple poses that target common areas of overuse & tension such as hamstring, quadriceps, shoulders, IT bands, and hips, along with core strengthening, essential for participants of all three sports.
We will practice breathing techniques, Pranayama, throughout each class to achieve equanimity and cultivate the elusive ability, mastered by the greatest athletes, to be fully present in the moment. Come and join us to get your head in the game!
No previous yoga experience or level of flexibility needed.
Hatha Yoga & Core
Taught either as a hatha or slow flow class with emphasis on activating and toning core abdominal muscles and stimulating the digestive system. The activation and development of multiple layers in the abdomen and pelvis will be explored through fundamental yoga postures. Working together these muscles create a functional container both emotionally and physically. This class may include yogic techniques such as agni sara to promote dynamic and lively health. Suitable for all levels.
Joints, Glands and Stress Relief
This class is designed to increase flexibility and range of motion in your joints while increasing circulation or blood and lymph throughout your body. Select asanas will focus on stimulating the endocrine system to strengthen immunity, regulate metabolism and balance the body. Yogic breathing (pranayama) and guided meditation techniques will cultivate relaxation, melt away stress and create a sense of well-being. Suitable for all levels.
